Ms. Pratima Kulkarni I was extremely happy when I saw the Microsoft Office 2003 Marathi since I have personally felt the need for such software for a long time now. Through ‘Project Bhasha’ initiative, computer technology will reach more and more people and substantially enhance the sources of knowledge and information and quality of life in rural India. Technology, its awareness and its utilization in daily life are essential for progress and development. All this will no more be a dream, it will come true due to Project Bhasha. If my experience can be of any use I would certainly like to participate in the efforts to create awareness about Microsoft Office 2003 Marathi among people and institutions. The features that appeal to me most are Find and Replace, Header and Footer in Microsoft Office Word 2003, availability and recognition of Marathi text in the Formula Bar of Microsoft Office Excel 2003, PowerPoint presentation and sending e-mail in Marathi without difficulty through Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. Microsoft Office 2003 Marathi will bolster the efforts of standardization in Marathi. With the participation of globally successful company like Microsoft, it will be accepted without much difficulty at all levels. Besides, I believe that the adequate financial support that is needed to implement such initiatives will also be available. As for Microsoft Office 2003 Marathi being based on international Unicode standard, not being a techno savvy myself, I cannot perceive the applicability. But I can sense that exchange of information and knowledge will be widespread. Ultimately, thinking of future, this can contribute in the development of entire nation. |
